Manas National Park is located in Western Assam close to Assam Bengal boarder. The area was declared as a game reserve in 1928 and became a Tiger reserve in 1974. It was declared a world heritage site in 1985 and a birsphere reserve in 1989. In 1990 it was further declared as a Naitonal park.
The park is home to Rhino, Elephant, Tiger, Pygmy hog, Hispid hare, Gloden Langur, Assamerse Macaque, Rhesus Macaque, Leopard, Gloden Cat, Clouded Leopard, Fishing cat, Leopard cat, jungle cat, Indian Civet, Mongoose, Himalayan Black Bear, Sloth Bear, Gaur, Water Buffalo, Sambar, Hog deer, Barking Deer, Swamp Deer, Wild pigs etc.
