Rinchenpong is a small place in the West Sikkim, situated close to the villages of Rinchenpong and Kaluk, at an altitude of 5576ft (1700m) above the mean sea-level.
To Reach:
Rinchenpong is about 40kms from Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim, and can be reached via Rangla road by hiring car.
It is 130kms from Siliguri, West Bengal which forms the base for all tourist spots and can be reached via Jorethang road in 5 hours by hiring four wheeler.
To See:
Rinchengpong is a perfect place for those who want to dwell in the natural surrounding and spend a leisurely holiday vacation. The place is more famous for its scenic beauty than local tourist spots.
Rinchenpong Monastery- Though the Rinchenpong monastery of the 18th century is famous for its singular ‘Adi-Buddha’ statue or “the Primordial Buddha” in the ‘yab-yum’ position embracing a woman, enlightening the love and union between a male and female on earth. It was built in 1730 and the third oldest monastery of Sikkim.
Tato Pani-It is a hot water spring, which is about 20kms from the main town. “Tato” means hot, in the native language of the state, Nepali.
Rishum Monastery- It is also a Buddhist monastery, which is 20kms upwards the hill. It offers an excellent view of the Kanchenjunga range.

Shrijanga Temple- It is at 8km from Rinchenpong and is a famous picnic spot for people. The Limbu tribe of the state visit the temple to worship their God. A waterfall just near to this adds to the beauty of the temple.
