Namchi meaning 'Sky High' is the district
head quarter of South Sikkim. Nested on lofty valley at 4300ft
and surrounded by the hills Namchi is one of the less crowded
towns in Sikkim.
Namchi commands panoramic view of the Darjeeling,
Kalimpong hills and snow-capped mountains with vast stretches
of valley. At a distance of 78kms from Gangtok
and 100 Kms from Siliguri
with good road connection Namchi is a nice place for short stay
and village excursions. Namchi is neat, clean and developing fast
into a tourist destination for its peaceful environ and natural
