Singhik
- North Sikkim
Singhik is located just 2 kms from Mangan
- the district head quarter of North Sikkim and about 70 km
from Gangtok - the capital of Sikkim.
Singhik is a small picturesque hamlet on the North Sikkim Highway
at an altitude of over 5200ft. The place offers one of the most
spectacular and closest views of Kunchenjunga and its ranges. You may spend a night at Singhik while on your way to North Sikkim.
A well-located Tourist
lodge provides accommodations for the tourists. The lodge commands
a magnificent view of the snow ranges on a clear day. The area
with forested hills and tumbling mountain streams also has a
number of interesting short nature trails along the higher ridges
of the surrounding hills. One can also relish the view of the
most graceful peak in the world-Mt. Siniolchu. While in Singhik it is worthwhile to go for
the half an hour uphill trek that will take you to the ancient
Singhik monastery. |
