Sinclairs Dooars is the first deluxe resort to come up in Dooars. The Resort has 66 cottages spread over a very large area. It is one of the first luxury resorts in Dooars and even today it is one of the best in the area. The resort has excellent amenities for guests looking for a relaxed sojourn amongst nature.

The retreat with 66 well established cottages,3 suits and in addition to lawns and gardens makes the place an eye catching area. Sinclairs Retreat is the best resort in Chalsa near Gorumara forest. The calm and tranquil environment will surely give you the feeling of the slow pace and smooth leisure.

Location

Sinclairs Retreat is located near Chalsa. It is situated on the top of the Chalsa Hill. The valley of Dooars is also seen from here. This virgin resort covers an area of 20 acre, and blends modernity and natural beauty. The Gorumara National Park is about 10 kms from here and the Jaldapara forests are about 70 kms.

Activity

The resort offers an array of activity within its premises including outdoor games, gym, cycling, Ayurvedic messages, Swimming pool etc. You may spend an entire day within its campus without even venturing out. You may also decide to go on a small hike in the surrounding greenery.

The forests of Gorumara and Jaldapara remain the primary and main activity for which tourists visit the area and that can also be undertaken from here. You may also go on a short drive to Samsing area (about 15 kms) for its beautiful and peaceful nature.

We stayed at Sinclairs retreat during October 2013. I think this is the best property around. The resort is spread over large area and there are large number of cottages. The cottages, swiming pool, lawn all are well maintained and the staff is quite friendly and professional. Only issue was getting the permit for visit to Gorumara and Chapramari. The hotel staff were not much help in arranging the same and we had to fend for ourselves.
