Jaldapara Tourist Lodge is a West Bengal Tourism Development Corporation Accommodation at Madarihat in the outskirts of the forest. This is one of the oldest and arguably the best place to stay at Jaldapara.

Rooms – The old building had large wooden rooms. The whole property was renovated in 2010 and new modern rooms have been added. There are some cottages also available for booking. All rooms are Air Conditioned.

Restaurant – The large restaurant of the Tourist Lodge is quite well known among tourists. Apart from boarders here, general tourist travelling through Jaldapara area avail the restaurant facility on a regular basis. Menu based order is not taken during pick hours and you may have to settle for Bengali Thali for lunch.

Ambience – The Jaldapara forest is adjacent to the boundary of the Tourist lodge. Sighting of Deer or occasional Elephant is not uncommon. There is a Leopard rescue facility near the compound. The large open area has been converted into a part with statues of wild animal around. Children can have a good time playing in the park. Overall ambience is comfortable and homely.

Service – The stuff is recruited by government and there has not been much recruitment in the recent past. The place is under-stuffed and service standards remains below par.

Overall given the pros and cons, Jaldapara Tourist Lodge remains your best bet for accommodation in the area.
